Long before Apple introduced the Apple Watch, people were setting their watches 5 or 10 minutes ahead of the correct time. This lifehack helps those with punctuality challenges—and who doesn’t have some?—arrive on time. But, if you use the Apple Watch, you might not think of this trick, since the Apple Watch sets itself automatically via your iPhone. Happily, it is possible to set the Apple Watch ahead. On the watch, press the Digital Crown, find and tap Settings, tap Time, and tap the time-ahead field. Then, turn the Digital Crown to set how many minutes ahead and tap Set. This change affects only the watch face—any alarms or other time-related notifications will still go off at the correct time.
