Apple Watch Users Can Now Specify When the Maps App Taps Your Wrist

If you own an Apple Watch, you’ve probably felt it tapping your wrist while the Maps app guides you to a location. Those turn-alert taps can be very useful, for example, if you want to appear as though you know your route while on foot in a strange city. When you’re using Maps to navigate while driving, however, those taps may be unnecessary or even distracting, especially if your car uses CarPlay to put the map on the dashboard screen. A new setting in iOS 12’s Watch app makes it easy to customize when you get tapped. To access it, open the Watch app on your iPhone and tap My Watch > Maps. Now toggle the switches for when you want turn alerts: Driving, Driving with CarPlay, and Walking.
