Vern Dickman
Mr. Dickman started his business career in 1966. At age 23, he opened the first of the highly successful Gas and Save Service Stations in Northern California. Over the next seven years, he grew his service station chain to include 30 locations. In 1973, Mr. Dickman sold his business and retired at age 30. In 1975, he was approached by Phillips Petroleum Company with a request to take back control of the 30 stations. Within three years, he successfully doubled the business operation to 60 locations.
Since then, Dickman has had vested interest and ownership in various restaurants, hotels, ranches and many land development projects. In 1987, he entered into the video business and successfully created three separate companies with over 400 locations.
Dickman has served on the Board of Directors for the Utah Children’s Center, Duck’s Unlimited Organization, and is an active member of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce. He has received numerous awards during his career, including the distinguished Silver Award from the United Way. Vern and his wife, Charleen, have five children and nine grandchildren. He enjoys hunting and spending time with his family.
Jason Ellis
Since April 2001, Mr. Ellis has overseen the building and growth of Utah based Spring Communications as Chief Executive Officer. In a few short years, Ellis has built Spring's solid management team and directed implementation of its operational infrastructure, one of Spring's major business advantages. Under Ellis’ strong operational and financial leadership, Spring Communications has grown revenue by 100% each fiscal year and has sustained income growth during difficult retail economic conditions.
Prior to joining Spring Communications, Ellis was Director of Business Development at Idea Exchange Incorporated. At Idea Exchange, one of the first online digital publishers, Ellis was instrumental in helping the Company identify strategic relationships in the e-commerce arena. Before his career at Idea Exchange, Ellis was Manager of Financial Analysis for The Associates First Capital Corporation, helping oversee a consumer loan portfolio in excess of $100 million.
Because of his exemplary leadership abilities and vision, Ellis was named one of Utah's 40 most impressive young business leaders under 40 by Utah Business Magazine in early 2006.
Ellis holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of Utah. He is married to his wife Mary, and enjoys exercising and the outdoors.
Steven Bain
Mr. Bain has served as the President of Simply Mac since the company was founded in August of 2006. Since inception, Bain has managed the overall strategic objectives, vision and leadership of Simply Mac. Bain also currently serves as a member of the National Reseller Advisory Board for Apple.
Mr. Bain has worked in the wireless and consumer technology industries for the past 17 years, including 4 years at T-Mobile USA where he served as the Channel Director of National Retail Field Sales, managing over 6000 national retail and prepaid locations across the country. Bain also served as the Regional Director of Indirect Sales for T-Mobile and managed 1500 agent locations in the Western United States.
Prior to T-Mobile, Bain worked as Director of Business Development and Vice President of Retail Sales at ePhones, a wireless products company. Mr. Bain began his career in the wireless phone industry through employment with Cellular ONE and later was the President and Co-Founder of Utah Cellular and Communications, the first chain of Cellular ONE/AT&T Wireless retail dealer locations in the Salt Lake market.
Mr. Bain has a B.A. in Finance and an MBA from the University of Utah. Bain has also completed Harvard Business School’s Entrepreneurial Tool Kit Program. He has functional knowledge in several languages and enjoys spending time together with his wife Brooke and their four children.
Kent Thomas
Mr. Thomas is the founder and managing member of CFO Solutions, L.C. Since 1996, Thomas and his team have served over seventy-five companies which range from startup to $30 million plus in annual revenue. Thomas' clients have raised more than $180 million equity, debt and lease financing with his assistance. He was named to the vSpring Capital Top 100 Venture Entrepreneurs of 2005. This accolade was awarded to Thomas by his peers, who chose him as one of the 100 most likely people to lead a successful venture in Utah within the next few years.
Prior to founding CFO Solutions, Mr. Thomas has served as either Chief Executive or Chief Financial Officer/Controller of seven companies.
Kent started his career at Ernst & Whinney (currently Ernst & Young) in 1979. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from Brigham Young University, an MBA from the University of Utah, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Utah.
Brett Bradshaw
Mr. Bradshaw has a proven track record of building successful sales programs. Under Bradshaw’s leadership as Vice President of Sales, Spring Communications has grown to over $40 million in gross sales per year during its first five years. Bradshaw has established uniform sales, training, and new hire programs which have increased company sales, staff development, and the operational efficiency of each retail location.
In late 2000, Bradshaw was introduced to the cellular industry when he joined the Cellular Technologies sales team. Bradshaw still holds the Regional MCI WorldCom Wireless record for individual sales in one month. With his experience and education Bradshaw developed his sales team and turned his lower-end store into the top producer over a four-state/ twenty-store region.
Prior to entering the wireless industry, Bradshaw was General Manager of Gold’s Gym in Ogden, UT. Under his leadership, the franchise dramatically increased profitability, bringing the gym to its highest level in ten years.
Bradshaw holds a B.A. in Technical Sales with an emphasis in business management from Weber State University. He is married to his sweetheart, Lisa. They have three beautiful children, Tanner, Kaeden and Mercedes. Brett enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Tyler Dickman
Tyler was the founder and Managing Partner of MacSomething, now known as SimplyMac. As Managing Partner he restructured the full operations of MacSomething, resulting in an increase of sales revenues of over 300% in comparison to former ownership.
Prior to purchasing MacSomething, Mr. Dickman was the Operations Manger for Accuscan Health Imaging. At Accuscan Mr. Dickman directed the majority of the business. From build out to its existing operations, he developed operational procedures that proved successful in a market where competitors failed. His strong commitment to customer service and building a dedicated employee teams serves as an integral component to the success of SimplyMac.
Mr. Dickman has been involved in the development and start up of several other businesses in a host of different industries from insurance to furniture manufacturing. Mr. Dickman has a BS in Economics from the University of Utah and enjoys being in the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and mountain biking in his spare time.
